1. What is Phantom*SF’s eBay Listing Service?
Phantom*SF’s eBay Listing Service is an eBay drop-off service. We
researched the drop-off concept designed to assist individuals
selling their items on eBay. Through our online presence and
activities on eBay, Phantom*SF makes it easy and convenient for our
customers to sell on eBay. Phantom*SF was founded in 2001 in San
Francisco and has successfully executed eBay listings.
Phantom*SF’s fees are highly competitive within the industry.
2. What can be sold through Phantom*SF?
We accept a wide variety of items, from porcelains, antiques and
art, to cameras, computers, purses, musical instruments and more.
You name it, we probably can handle it. Items must be legal to
sell on eBay, be shippable by USPS or DHL, have an eBay value of
over $75 and weigh less than 30 pounds.
3. Will items be safe?
Items will be professionally packaged, mostly through our trained
personnel or hired shippers and shipped. All items are all shipped
insured. Phantom*SF has processed many hundreds of eBay listings and
stands behind every sale.
4. What's the benefit to the consumer?
Ease and convenience are the greatest consumer benefits.
Phantom*SF’s processing area is staffed with a variety in expertise:
photography, ad copy, research and customer service. Running a
listing on eBay can be time consuming and involve a lot of customer
contact and other minute details. Phantom*SF does all the work.
Additionally, by simply dropping their item off, Phantom*SF sellers
benefit from the confident bidding that comes with Phantom*SF’s
Power Seller Status and great Customer Feedback, for successfully
closed eBay listings.
5. How are items tracked once they're dropped off?
As soon as the item is launched on eBay, customers will receive an
e-mail notification from Phantom*SF that their item is a live on
eBay. They will be provided a link to eBay, through which they can
view the listing.
6. How can customers check the status of their items?
·
They will receive regular email messages informing them of the
status of their items.
·
They can check the status at any time on eBay; simply sign in on
eBay and go to "Advanced Search" and enter Seller ID: "Phantom*SF"
·
They can call (415) 864-1338. Customer Service is available 7 days
a week from 12pm - 6pm (PT)
·
They can send email to
phantomsf@phantomsf.com.
7. How long are the eBay auctions?
Seven days. If unsold the first time around, they will be
re-listed for another 7 days.
8. How long does
it all take?
Items will generally be listed on eBay within a few days, however
never longer than two weeks. The eBay listing runs for seven days.
Customers will receive a check 30 days after Phantom*SF receives
cleared payment from the buyer.
9. What if an item doesn't sell?
If an item doesn't sell, it can be picked up after the second
listing. Items not picked up within 15 days upon notification, will
be considered abandoned.
10. Why is there a desired minimum $75 selling price for each
item?
The processing costs involved are such that accepting items of a
lesser value would result in customers receiving very little in
return for their goods.
11. Why do you recommend that eBay auctions start at $0.99 versus
a stated minimum amount?
The items that we accept generally sell very well on eBay.
In our experience, selecting a $0.99 starting price usually results
in a higher final sale price because there will be more competition.
Customers of course can select a higher starting price if so
desired. (A$25.00 prepay is required; this amount will be credited
to your account if your item sells).
Although we will strive for the highest sale price, Phantom*SF is
legally required to accept the highest bid an item receives; we
cannot return it to you if it sells for less than you think it's
worth.
12. What if an item sells below the $75 minimum estimated value?
On occasion, items will not perform to expectations, and eBay and
Phantom*SF cannot guarantee any item's performance. Phantom*SF will
commission all listings at a minimum $25.00. It's in Phantom*SF’s
interest to see that each item has a chance to succeed, and we do
everything we can to make this happen.
13. Why can't larger items be sold through Phantom*SF?
The vast majority of items that sell on eBay weigh less than 30
pounds. To be efficient, we have constructed our processing area to
accommodate this reality. We will continually evolve our assortment
of accepted items to best serve the market.
14. Why does Phantom*SF accept some items and not others?
Due to third party relationships, eBay regulations and our own
sensibilities, Phantom*SF will not sell sexually explicit material,
some weapons, counterfeit goods, items deemed by Shipping carriers
such as DHL / USPS to be hazardous, or any other items outlined in
eBay's prohibited items list. It's also noteworthy that even though
you can find just about anything on eBay, not everything on eBay
sells for high prices. Phantom*SF has worked hard to identify items
that will yield healthy returns for our sellers. Additionally, given
handling costs implicit in most eBay transactions, Phantom*SF has
focused on accepting and selling items that can be transported
relatively inexpensively and safely.
